The idea originated sometime in the winter of 2004, in Athens, Greece. A rock ‘n’ roll fanzine that would also cover many other musical forms, expose the underground scene, have comic strips, book, film, concert reviews, etc. Early in 2005, GangBang Press & Sound was born and the 1st issue was distributed for free around clubs, bars, bookshops and radio stations around Athens.
The name comes from old gangster movies of course. If you thought otherwise, you have a very dirty mind.
Gradually, word of mouth gave us a loyal fanbase.
We buy, download and listen to all the new rock/extreme metal/garage punk/jazz/whatever releases so that you won’t have to. We provide a showcase for new bands, Greek or otherwise. We check out the live scene in Athens. We interview the heroes of the underground, guitar gods, cultural visionaries, sci-fi/fantasy gurus, comic book creators, jazz legends and everybody in the global village who will talk to us.
We bring you the views on cult movies & literature and obsess over comic and RPG’s. And we do it without pushing anybody’s agenda (except our own, which is world domination. But anyway…).
GangBang is here to give a voice to all freaks, geeks, stoners, weirdos and deviants who think mainstream culture kinda sucks.
