Summer Zine #0 was created with the joined efforts of the visual artists Nir Harel, currently living and working in Tel Aviv, Israel and Thalia Raftopoulou, based in Athens, Greece. The printed matter, whose digital version is available online, features a selection of 3D renderings entitled “New Family” by Nir Harel and selected photos from the series “Still Lifes With A Biscuit” by Thalia Raftopoulou. It includes texts edited from a long google chat which went on during the process and focuses on the making of the works around their themes: order, animation of shapes, life through objects, family.Pages 40

______About the artists
Nir Harel, born 1978 in Tel Aviv (IL), lives in Tel Aviv (IL), is a visual artist. His work involves using computer generated images in making usable objects – sculptures. He has studied fine arts in Bezalel (BFA 2004, MFA 2010).
Thalia Raftopoulou, born 1980 in Athens (GR), lives in Athens (GR) is a visual artist. She has worked in various contexts experimenting with a multitude of media. She has studied fine arts in Athens (2006), Public Art and New Artistic Strategies in the Bauhaus University-Weimar in Germany (MFA, 2010). Currently she is a PhD candidate in the Athens School of Fine Arts.
